New Year, New You!

If you are having trouble sticking to your healthy New Year’s resolution, then it’s not the right resolution for you! We often plan to “lose weight” but end up wasting money, feeling deprived, and full of serious cravings and guilt. The New Year is a time for a fresh start and this should make you excited! By setting the right New Year’s resolution you can actually enjoy it and start seeing changes in your lifestyle that you love.
A great place to start is to practice mindful eating. It gives us the opportunity to slow down and make a choice about what we eat before we eat.

These tips for mindful eating will help you enjoy more while eating less!

> Pause before you eat something, and consider your options before mindlessly eating
> Check in with your hunger level and ask yourself, “Am I really hungry?” and “What am I hungry for?”
> When eating, give food your full attention and savor every bite
> Only eat food that tastes really good; if it doesn’t taste good, stop eating
> Pace yourself throughout the day to avoid feeling uncomfortable
> Be social instead of hanging around the food table. You will enjoy yourself much more
> Eat small portions of the things you love
> Fill up on lots of fruits and vegetables
> Stay physically active to feel better and have more energy
